CAROLYN L. AHERN BIOGRAPHY:
Carolyn is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with degrees in nursing and psychology. An advocate of early childhood literacy, Carolyn hopes to nurture children’s minds with an entertaining and educational combination of fiction and facts, as they explore each new National Park with brother and sister team, Maria and Manuel.
Carolyn’s first National Park story, Tino the Tortoise Adventures in the Grand Canyon was published by WestWinds Press an imprint of Graphic Arts Books.
Carolyn lives in Nevada with her husband Don and family. She loves taking walks with her Shih Tzu, Penny, exploring the great outdoors, hiking and traveling. She especially enjoys learning and writing about America’s National Parks, as a way to inspire children to embrace the stewardship of the environment, and spark an interest in the outdoors with wonder and enlightenment.
Carolyn is a member of SCBWI society of children’s book writers & illustrators, ALA American Library Association, & NPCA National Parks Conservation Association.
